Battle of the Warfield Shield

Pre-Game Analysis

by. Preston Bostain / D1 Highlights Intern

It’s the game that Clarksville High and Rossview High look forward to every year. The Wildcats of Clarksville will look to take the Warfield Shield to Rossview and defend it for the second year. In the previous matchup, that was held at CHS last year resulted in a 42-35 win for the Purple and Gold.

It was all run offense for both teams last year as the first pass touchdown of the game was in the fourth quarter by senior quarterback Jordan Justice. It was also a pass play that helped CHS seal the deal with a interception late. All of Clarksville High’s TD’s were rushing, mainly behind running back Brevon Johnson.

Last week, Rossview hosted Station Camp and was defeated 35-23. Sophomore Quarterback Kole Munson went 4 of 11 for 40 yards. Sophomore running back Fred Orr ran the ball 15 times gaining 113 yards and two TD’s.

Players to watch for: Clarksville High’s Brevon Johnson and Rossview’s Isaiah Phillips’.
