Battle of the Panthers: Playoff time! This is the battle of the Panthers and a 4A matchup that features the Maplewood Panthers out of Middle, TN at home against the Stone Memorial Panthers of Crossville, TN. Maplewood comes into this game riding a four-game winning streak and a 7-3 overall record. Stone Memorial comes into Friday’s game winning only one out of their last six games. Will Stone Memorial pull off the upset? My guess is highly unlikely, but don’t sleep on Stone Memorial. Coach Mark Wattenbarger will have his players ready to play. They will definitely need to be ready for war because they will have to deal with Maplewood’s dual threat QB BoBo Hodges. Talented freshman David Southerland leads them in rushing with 602 yds while averaging 6.3 yards a carry. Offensive and defensive lineman, Spencer Ware leads a solid O-line for the Maplewood. I believe the Maplewood Panthers will take care of business and move on to the next round. The winner of this game would play the winner of 8-2 Livingston Academy vs 3-7 Nolensville.
