Explosive Monday Morning News coming out of Baptist Sportsplex. General Manager Jon Robinson makes one of the biggest changes in Titans history relieving Head Coach Mike Mularkey of his duties. Fans across the country were stunned waking up this morning to hear the news considering that less than 28 hours ago a contract extension had been extended to Mularkey. What exactly was the reason for the change? Many are speculating that Coach Mularkey did not want to part with his assistant coaches a lot like Mike Munchak had refused to do. The Tennessee Titans now join the list of other organizations like the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, and the New York football Giants in looking for the next leader of their organization.

To be honest you never want to see anyone lose their job but in this case it was inevitable for it to happen.  While Mularkey did take us to the playoffs and get a win in the first round, which we haven’t done in 14 seasons, it was just time for a change. Now the question is who is on Robinson’s list of candidates? Here are the names floating around the airwaves that we have heard. Josh McDaniels, who is currently the offensive coordinator, Pat Shurmur offense of coordinator for

the Minnesota Vikings, John DeFilippo the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles and Mike Vrabel the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans. Out of this small list we can definitely see Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels being two of the leading candidates for the next head coach of Tennessee Titans based off of the relationship that Jon Robinson and the New England Patriots have. Some of our listeners and followers may be asking how about the Rooney Rule where one minority candidate must be interviewed, in that case Steven  Wilks, who is the defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers, possibly could be the wild card in this whole situation. One thing for certain ever since general manager Jon Robinson has come to Nashville the Tennessee Titans have definitely been trending in the right direction and only time will tell to see if he will be the right guy to lead our organization to the promised land.
