Trousdale County rolls in second round

Last night, we had an opportunity to check out current 2A champs Trousdale County take on Middle Tennessee Christian in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A highly offensive effort by both schools putting up 97 combined points, led by Trousdale County senior running back Kenyan  Harper scoring 6 touchdowns on the evening. Harper returning from an early-season injury ran the ball very well, reminding us of his 2013 season where he was a Mr.Football snub. Trousdale County’s offensive line opened lanes for harper to mass 270 rushing yards. The common theme throughout the game was wide rushing lanes and Harper maneuvering, stopping on a dime, cutting back, and basically running over and dragging defenders to the endzone. Middle Tennessee quarterback Justin Winn was also on display for the Cougars leading charges and scoring drives in a true senior leader sense.

Trousdale County moves on next Friday to play a very well balanced Marion County team that’s rolling right now coming off a 1st round bye, 2nd round blowout of Jackson County 49-6. Revenge is on the mind of the Warriors from the 2013 season early exit courtesy of the Yellow Jackets.
