It was a great  day for the first Wilson County Classic at Friendship High School in Lebanon, TN. A vision that Coaches  Chavez Jobe and Mo Thompson of On Top Athletics envisioned two years in the making. They wanted an opportunity to help showcase the seniors in the Wilson county area. This particular area is near and dear to the On Top Athletics Founders due to their ties to Lebanon High school being graduates in the nineties. It only made sense for them to give back to the community as they have been doing over the course of the past several years. Allowing kids to come and participate in practice weekly free of charge, while also mentoring them on and off the field. The Wilson County Classic All-Star Game was a last hoorah for many seniors as they strapped on their shoulder pads and helmets one last time with their teammates and counterparts in the immediate Wilson County area.

Teams were divided and selected by their respective high school head coaches. All schools were well represented, from Mount Juliet High School, Green Hills, Watertown, Friendship, Mount Juliet Chrisitian Academy, Lebanon, & Wilson Central. The same coaches assisted in leading throughout the game respectively with Green Hill Head Coach Josh Crouch leading Team Red and Friendship Head Coach John McNeal leading Team Black.

Amarion Workings (MJ) kicked off the game with the first touchdown on a nice pitch and catch for 21 yards from Hayden Shults (Wilson Central) of the Black Team. Four plays later Kemontez Logue (Lebanon) caught a beautiful 57 yard pass from his QB to tie the game up. The second quarter was a defensive struggle with both teams holding their own. Defensive tackle out of Mount Juliet, Jeffery Pillow anchored the line for Team Red while Green Hill linebacker/edge rusher Ashton Rice made sure nothing was available in his respective areas for Team Black.

We went to half tied up 7-7 with Team Black getting the ball to open the half. It wasn’t long into 2nd half before Lebanon standout Kemontez Logue scored on a 70yd bomb, his second of the game to extend the lead 14-7. In a stingy defensive third-quarter tilt, Amarion Workings ended the quarter with a beautiful one handed pick six to inch closer to Team Red. 14-13 to start the 4th.

Tanner Cocke  out of Mount Juliet got things rolling to open up the 4th quarter with an interception with 9:40 left in the game. Team Red had an opportunity to take the lead but could never really get the offense moving with several 3 and outs. When the clock hit zeros across-the-board, Team Black Took home the first win of the All-Star classic led by Kemontez Logue being named game most valuable player.
