It’s been a good week for Marshall County kicker Aaron Medley. First he received an offer from Texas A&M on Monday then less then 24 hours later, he got his dream offer from Tennessee tight end coach Mark Elder.

Medley didn’t have to think about the offer too long as he committed to the Volunteers on Wednesday.

“They were my dream school,” Medley said. “Ever since I was little, I’ve loved Tennessee. And right now they need a kicker and I feel I can help them out tremendously.”

Medley (6-0, 175) chose the Vols over the Aggies and Oklahoma who had offered on May 6.

He becomes the Vols 13th commitment in the Class of 2014 and the fourth in-state commitment joining Beech running back Jalen Hurd, Knoxville Webb defensive back Todd Kelly Jr. and Independence Athlete Vic Wharton III.

Medley had a good junior year making 27 of 31 extra points and was three of six in field goal attempts with a long of 50 yards.

“Aaron is a great kid with a great work ethic,” Marshall County football coach Aaron Pitts said. “He stays focused on his goals and the team’s and has worked hard to be where he is today.”

Medley joins MBA offensive lineman Alex Bars (Notre Dame), CPA offensive lineman Paul Adams (Missouri), Independence defensive back Finus Sterbling (Missouri), CPA wide receiver Thomas Richard (Missouri), MUS kicker Gary Wunderlich (Virginia), Oakland free safety Emmanuel Smith (Vanderbilt), Friendship Christian quarterback A. J. Long (Syracuse), MBA defensive tackle Jashon Robertson (Vanderbilt) and Westwood Athlete Nikia Cathey (Mississippi State) as Tennessee Class of 2014 players who have already committed.
