WCHS logoWe posted about a month-and-a-half ago here at D1 highlights headquarters that there is a new sheriff in town in the Whites Creek area. You asked who the new sheriff is, its head coach Tyrus Ward from Chattanooga. Coach Ward now going into year 2 at the Cobra program is heading in the right direction. The Cobras are cowing off a statement win over a rebuilding Glencliff team last week that actually beat them in 2015 Week 1. Fast Forward a year now the Cobras are poised to eventually start their season off 2-0 if they can knock off Sycamore High School who just came off a defeat to the hands of Clarksville Northeast. What we find interesting about this game is that both Glencliff in 2015 and Sycamore knocked off Whites Creek starting them off at 0-2 to last season throughout the first two weeks.
Coach Ward and the Cobras can make a huge statement this Friday night by going up 2-0 for the first time since 2009 when the Cobras last went to the playoffs. If history repeats itself the Whites Creek area is poised to have a historic and memorable season behind the talented & young head coach Tyrus Ward. If the season pans out the way we think it will remember you heard it here first “snakes are in the grass”.
