Former Overton Bobcat Ugo Amadi

Five years ago when we were just getting our feet wet in this high school football scene here in Middle Tennessee we came across a young man that was playing at the top of his game for the Overton Bobcats. Ugo Amadi had the attention of major college programs around the country therefore we decided to go see him play against what would be the Bobcats toughest opponent at the time, the Ravenwood Raptors.

As you all know, we have a “Player of the Game” for every game that we attend. That Friday night back on September 7th 2013 Ugo shared our POG  honors with teammate T.J. Easley. T.J. chased the quarterback while Ugo tracked down passes…the perfect system. For those of you that may recall, this was the game that ended in overtime with Ugo deflecting a pass intended for the highly recruited Ravenwood wide receiver Van Jefferson.

As it is now, Ugo is going into his senior season, again highly recruited but this time as an Oregon Duck and this time by NFL scouts as opposed to college scouts. As you can see in the photograph to the left, Ugo hasn’t missed many workout sessions. In fact when we caught up with Ugo back here in Nashville over his spring break, he and Elite3 founder Riley Howard where headed to catch a workout at Title Boxing Club in Nashville with trainer Jarrod Houston. Riley of Elite3 informed us that this is the typical level of dedication that Ugo has had his whole career! While everyone else is at the beach for spring break, Ugo has come back home four years straight to train and getting better. We are excited to see what the football gods bring Ugo’s way this year. We hope to see him and the Oregon Ducks return to prominency under new head coach Mario Cristabol.
